Sheet Metal Bending Services | MS Machining
MS Machining provides CNC press brake bending for custom sheet metal parts, including multi-angle bends, offset bends, and complex formed profiles.
CNC Sheet Metal Bending Capabilities
MS Machining provides CNC press brake bending for custom sheet metal components, including straight bends, offset profiles, channels, and parts requiring multiple forming operations. Tooling and bend sequences are selected based on part geometry, flange dimensions, and accessibility throughout the bending process.
Straight and Angled Bends
Single or multiple bends at specified angles for brackets, mounting flanges, panels, and other formed components. The bending setup takes into account material thickness, required inside radius, and flange dimensions.
U-Channels and Return Flanges
U-shaped sections, channels, and parts with opposing flanges. Tool selection and bending sequence are evaluated to accommodate flange height, channel width, and clearance between the workpiece and press brake tooling.
Offset and Z-Bends
Stepped profiles formed through two opposing bends, typically used to create mounting offsets, overlapping joints, or clearance between assembled parts. Offset height and bend spacing affect tooling selection and forming feasibility.
Complex Multi-Bend Components
Components with multiple bends, varying flange orientations, or closely spaced features. Bend sequences are planned around tool accessibility and potential interference with previously formed sections, particularly when producing narrow channels or enclosed profiles.
Bending Specifications
Reference specifications based on published industry capabilities. These figures are not verified MS Machining equipment limits.

Actual bending feasibility and achievable specifications depend on material grade, thickness, bend length, tooling, and part geometry. Project-specific capability must be confirmed before quotation.
Custom Bent Sheet Metal Parts
MS Machining manufactures custom bent sheet metal parts to your drawings and specifications. Orders range from individual brackets and formed panels to chassis and fabricated assemblies, with secondary operations available when required.
Brackets & Mounting Components
Custom angle brackets, mounting plates, and formed supports with specified hole patterns, flange dimensions, and mounting arrangements. Parts can be supplied with threaded inserts, studs, or other fastening hardware, depending on your design.
Enclosure Panels & Covers
Bent panels, covers, and enclosure sections with return flanges, ventilation openings, and access cutouts. Where several panels form an assembly, the finished geometry and mating features are manufactured to the specified dimensions, with hardware installation and surface finishing available as needed.
Chassis & Structural Components
Custom chassis, equipment trays, and formed frames, including parts with multiple bends, mounting surfaces, and reinforcement features. Welding and mechanical assembly can be incorporated when the finished component requires more than bending alone.

Bending Feasibility & Drawing Review
Before production, MS Machining reviews your drawings to confirm that the required bends can be produced with the available tooling. Material specifications, part geometry, and critical dimensions are checked, with any manufacturing concerns discussed before the order proceeds.
Bend Radius & Flange Requirements
Tight bend radii and short flanges can limit forming options, particularly when material properties or tooling dimensions restrict the required geometry. These features are assessed during quotation, and alternative bend radii or flange dimensions can be proposed where necessary.
Holes, Cutouts & Formed Features
Openings located close to bend lines may distort during forming, while certain corner details require relief cuts. These features are checked against the finished part requirements, and any recommended changes are submitted for your approval.
Tooling Access & Complex Bends
Deep channels, return flanges, and closely spaced bends can create tooling interference. The forming sequence and available clearance are reviewed before production to determine whether the part can be bent as designed or requires alternative tooling.

Sheet Metal Bending FAQs
Can I order a small quantity of custom bent sheet metal parts?
Yes. MS Machining accepts custom bending inquiries for small batches as well as larger production orders. Minimum order quantities depend on the part design, material requirements, and tooling setup. For small orders, setup costs may account for a larger portion of the unit price.
What drawings do you need for a sheet metal bending quote?
A dimensioned 2D drawing and a 3D CAD model are preferred. Please include the material grade, thickness, required quantity, and any critical tolerances. If you already have a flat pattern, you can send it along with the formed part drawing. We can review the files and advise if additional information is needed.
Can you bend parts that require special tooling?
Parts with deep channels, narrow openings, return flanges, or unusual bend configurations may require specialized tooling. Feasibility depends on the available punch and die profiles, machine clearance, and production quantity. We review these requirements before confirming the manufacturing approach and quotation.
Can sheet metal parts be bent after surface finishing?
This depends on the finish, material, and bend geometry. Pre-coated or plated sheets may experience cracking, marking, or coating damage during bending. For parts requiring powder coating, anodizing, or other finishes, the finishing sequence is determined according to the material and finished-part requirements.
Can you supply bent parts with welding and installed fasteners?
Yes. Welding, PEM fastener installation, and other secondary operations can be arranged alongside bending. Parts can be supplied as individual components or fabricated assemblies according to your drawings and specified delivery condition.
How are sheet metal bending prices and lead times determined?
Pricing depends on material, thickness, blank size, bend quantity, tooling requirements, order volume, and any secondary operations. Lead times also depend on material availability and production scheduling. Send your drawings and quantity requirements for a project-specific quotation.
